about us

The Bag Project is now a part of embrella, a foster care nonprofit. And we are grateful to continue the mission that Anupa Wijaya started!

The Bag Project is rooted in the founder's  passion to help children in crisis and provide them with comfort and dignity.  It's what all children deserve but unfortunately not what all experience.  The purpose of The Bag Project is to make the transition to a safer place a little easier by providing kids who find themselves in unfamiliar situations with familiar items through charitable donations.

We have an opportunity to provide comfort to children who are in unfamiliar and often scary situations.  So why wouldn't we?  There are several well-regarded organizations in this area that are successfully transforming the lives of our youth, on a very tight budget.  The Bag Project allows us to support their work with a bag filled with necessities and comfort items that can be distributed to children and youth in crisis.

Comforting kids in crisis

is now a part of

our vision

  • Provide the chance for all children to move forward with comfort, dignity, and confidence.
  • Support immediate health, educational and social-emotional needs of at-risk children.
  • Partner with local organizations and social services agencies to provide critical and tangible resources that strengthen the services they provide.
  • Empower service-minder children in creating their own opportunities to support their peers in crisis and transition.
